The Green KMML cell, a forum of Kerala Minerals and Metals ltd. organized a week long Environment Day celebrations ‘Haritholsavam 2011’. The programs in ‘Haritholsavam’ includes Green Badging, Seminars, Green Tour, distribution of saplings, planting of saplings, Environment Quiz and Idea Generation program.
Haritholsavam was inaugurated on 4th June at KMML by the Executive Director C.J.George Senior Environmental Engineer, Kerala State Pollution Control Board Sri.Sai and Union leaders were attended the program. The saplings were distributed in the function.
Environment Quiz was organized for the Schools of Chavara educational sub district on 6th June at FTH Conference Hall. Among the 15 schools attended in the function, Panmana Manayil School, Chavara H.S.S Government School, Ayyankoyikkal H.S.S were won 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. S.Krishnan Nair, Chairman, Green KMML Cell led the program .
A thematic seminar on environment conservation was organized at MS Unit on June 8th, inaugurated by Executive Director Sri.C.J.George , in the meeting presided by the Assistant General Manager(MS) Sri.George Kutty Thomas, Senior officers of M.S Unit and Union leaders were addressed the participants.
On 9th June, a comprehensive Green Planting initiative was launched at TSP. Executive Director(TSP), Sri. S.Suresh Kumar inaugurated the program. Assistant General Manager Sri.Purushothaman Namboothiri, Assistant General Manager(Finance) Sri.C.S.Jyothi were addressed the participants.
A seminar on environmental conservation was organized by Green KMML Cell in association with Institute of Engineers India , Kollam chapter at FTH Conferrence Hall. General Manager Finance KMML Sri.Sunil Chakko inaugurated the seminar, Sri.RajendraPrasad DGM ,KMML, Sri.Kesava Rajan Chairman, Institute of Engineers ,Dr.Jayaraj Secretary,Institute of Engineers, Sri.Sivadasan Institute of Engineers were addressed the gathering.
Validictory function of a weeklong environment day celebrations was held on 10th June at Fire & Safety Hall. KMML Managing Director Sri.N.R.Subramaniam inaugurated the function, Sri. Ajaya Krishnan JGM(P&A/EDP) KMML, Sri.B.Umman Senior Joint Director , Factories & Boilers, were addressed the participants. Prizes were presented for Productivity week celebration competition winners and for Environmental Day celebration competition winners by Sri. C,J. George Executive Director.
On 19th June, Sunday the Green KMML Cell conducted Green Tour ‘Harithayathra’ to Thenmala Echo Tourrism. Sri.S.Krishnan Nair, Sri.V.Shivarajan,Sri.C. Sreeraj, Sri.C.P.Hariharan led this Harithayathra.
