The Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd has been selected as the best state Public undertaking in the state and given Performance Excellence Award and Award For Pollution Abatement Initiatives for the year 2008-09. The award was instituted by the State Industries and Commerce Department
KMML, the only integrated Titanium Dioxide plant in the world has record performance excellence during the year 2008-09. All time records were achieved in production and marketing during this period. During 2008-09 company has turnover of Rs.463 Crores and profit of Rs 31 Crores .Zero Percent Liquid Effluent Control System was also initiated during this period.
Performance Excellence Award was received by the Managing Director Sri. N.R.Subramaniam from the Hon’ble Minister for Water Resources Sri.N.K.Premachandran in the presence of Hon’ble Minister for Industries Sri.Elamaram Kareem in a prestigious function organized at Mascot Hotel Trivandrum on 26th November 2010.
Award for Pollution abatement was received jointly by the Managing Director Sri. N.R.Subramaniam and Executive Director Sri.C.J.George. Award committee consisting of Additional Chief Secretary Sri.T.Balakrishnan IAS, Industries Secretary Sri. Alkhesh Kumar Sharma IAS and SBT Chief General Manager Sri.R.Ramchandran Nair selected KMML for these meritorious Awards.
MD in his reply speech stressed the need for more technology up gradation and value addition for the future growth of the company. ‘This is the result of team work’; he added.
General Manager Sri.Sunil Chacko, Joint General Manager [P&A] Sri.V.Ajaykrishnan, Public Relations Officer Anil Muhammad and Trade Union leaders were represented the company in the award distribution ceremony.
