A pre concentration plant of Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited was inaugurated by Managing Director Shri. N.R Submaniam, at Ponmana Anchumanakkal on Wednesday. The 2.5 crore plant is part of the company’s programme to develop its Mineral Separation unit.
The plant can process and separate minerals, at a less cost, from sand which has a lower concentration of mineral deposits. The machinery had been imported from . The company’s employees completed the civil and electrical works in four months.
Sand obtained from the sea-washing process has a lower concentration of minerals and the Mineral- Separation unit procedure for such sand increases the production costs.
The plant has can process 75tonnes of sand an hour. When run at this full capacity, the plant will increase the production capacity of the company’s Mineral Separation unit by 54,000 tonnes KMML Executive Director Sri. C.J.George presided over the function. GM (F) Sri. Sunil Chacko, JGM(P&A/EDP) Sri.V. Ajayakrishnan, Sri. Georgekutty Thomas, Sri. Sabu Lal, and Sri. Sureshkumar were felicitated in the occasion.
